Clear Braces

Clear BracesThe benefits of orthodontic treatment often go beyond the obvious physical changes of an improved bite and straighter teeth; it’s also a great way to improve a person’s overall self-image. While having beautiful straight teeth is important, even more important is the need to alleviate any potential health problems associated with the teeth or jaw. Crooked teeth or jaw problems may contribute to improper cleaning of teeth, leading to tooth decay and, possibly, gum disease or total tooth loss. Orthodontic problems that go untreated can lead to chewing and digestion difficulties, speech impairments, and abnormal wear of tooth surfaces. Over time, excessive strain on gum tissue and the bone that supports the teeth can affect the jaw joints leading to problems such as headaches or face and neck pain.

CleaningTeeth cleaning (prophylaxis) by the dentist removes tartar (mineralized plaque) that may develop even with careful brushing and flossing, especially in areas that are difficult to reach in routine toothbrushing. Professional cleaning includes tooth scaling and tooth polishing and debridement if too much tartar has accumulated. This involves the use of various instruments or devices to loosen and remove deposits from the teeth.

Most dentists recommend having yourteeth professionally cleaned at least once every year. More frequent cleaning and examination may be necessary during treatment of dental and other oral disorders. Contact our office to schedule your cleaning.

Crowns & Bridges

CrownsCrowns and most bridges are fixed prosthetic devices. Unlike removable devices such as dentures, which you can take out and clean daily, crowns and bridges are cemented onto existing teeth or implants, and can only be removed by a dentist.

A crown is used to entirely cover or "cap" a damaged tooth. Besides strengthening a damaged tooth, a crown can be used to improve its appearance, shape or alignment. A crown can also be placed on top of an implant to provide a tooth-like shape and structure for function.

A bridge may be recommended if you're missing one or more teeth. Gaps left by missing teeth eventually cause the remaining teeth to rotate or shift into the empty spaces, resulting in a bad bite. The imbalance caused by missing teeth can also lead to gum disease and temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders.

DenturesA denture is an appliance that is inserted in the mouth, replaces natural teeth and provides support for the cheeks and lips. Complete dentures are used to replace missing teeth for people with no remaining teeth. Dentures may also be used for people who have lost several teeth. In this case, the appliance is called a partial denture or an overdenture.

The beauty of dentures today is that they are designed to be comfortable and functional. They are very similar in appearance to natural teeth, and can improve a smile or facial appearance.

How do Dentures Work?
With complete dentures, a flesh-colored acrylic base fits over your gums. The base of the upper denture covers the palate (the roof of your mouth), while that of the lower denture is shaped like a horseshoe to accommodate your tongue. Dentures are custom-made in a dental laboratory from impressions taken of your mouth. Dr.Singh will determine which type of dentures are best for you.
Deep Cleaning

Deep Cleaning

"Deep cleaning" the process by which plaque (bacteria and food mixture) and calculus (tartar or mineralized plaque deposits) are removed from both supragingival (above the gum) and subgingival (below the gum) tooth surfaces. After treatment, the gingival (gum) tissue will become tight, pink, and healthy, with no bleeding or redness. This is a very important step in the treatment of gum disease.

If you have bleeding, painful receding gums, foul smell or sensitivity to cold please contact All Smile Dental today.

Digital X-Rays

Digital X-ray is state of the art technology available to you at All Smile Dental. In this method of X-ray, a small sensor unit sends pictures from your mouth to a computer to be recorded and saved.

What are the benefits of Digital X-rays?
XrayThere are numerous advantages of dental digital x-rays, as opposed to traditional dental x-rays. First of all, anything that reduces the discomfort experienced in the dental chair is welcomed, and these newer x-rays do just that. Also, there is no need to wait for the x-ray film to be developed before it can be viewed, meaning the checkup as a whole takes less time. The image brought up on the computer screen is also clearer, in part because the sensor used to make dental digital x-rays is much more sensitive than x-ray film. Because it is more sensitive, the patient's x-ray exposure can also be dramatically reduced. Many dental patients have said that with dental digital x-rays, it is easier to understand the course of treatment, if any, that the dentist wishes to take. This is because they are able to see the image enlarged on a screen in front of them, rather than trying to interpret a small piece of film held up to a light box. They also offer up to 80% less radiation.

ToothA dental extraction (also referred to as exodontia) is the removal of a tooth from the mouth. Extractions are performed for a wide variety of reasons, including tooth decay that has destroyed enough tooth structure to prevent restoration. Extractions of impacted or problematic wisdom teeth are routinely performed, as are extractions of some permanent teeth to make space for orthodontic treatment.

Wisdom Tooth Extraction
A great deal of the degree of difficulty associated removing a wisdom tooth will have to do with the manner in which it is positioned in the patient's jawbone. In general, the more normal the alignment of the wisdom tooth and the further through the gums it has been able to erupt, the less involved the extraction and its subsequent healing process will be.

At All Smile Dental, you are assured of gentle, thorough care and post extraction guidelines and care.

A dental implant (also known as an endosseous implant or fixture) is a surgical component that interfaces with the bone of the jaw or skull to support a dental prosthesis such as a crown, bridge, denture, facial prosthesis or to act as an orthodontic anchor.

Having a dental implant fused to the jawbone is the closest thing to mimicking a natural tooth because it stands on its own without affecting the nearby teeth and has great stability.

Laser Dentistry

WaterlaseLaser Dentistry uses laser energy and a gentle spray of water to perform a wide range of dental procedures – without the heat, vibration and pressure associated with the dental drill. Laser Dentistry is an exciting development in the field of laser dentistry that allows your dentist to perform surgery with fewer shots and less anesthesia. Laser Dentistry permits your dentist to treat dental problems with remarkable precision.

It's More Convenient!
Dr.Singh can often get you in and out of the dentist chair faster, since it’s less likely that you’ll need an injection – research shows that the vast majority of patients don’t. It’s nice to avoid that shot, isn’t it? Not using anesthetic can allow us to perform procedures that used to require more than one visit in a single appointment.

Lumineers & Veneers

Veneer BeforeVeneer AfterPorcelain dental veneers are also called dental veneers, porcelain veneers, porcelain laminates or just veneers. Lumineers are a brand of porcelain veneer.

Would you like a more attractive smile? Are your teeth chipped, cracked, broken or misshaped? Discolored or stained? Are there unsightly spaces between your teeth? If you answered yes to any of the above questions you might be a perfect candidate for porcelain dental veneers. Porcelain veneers are one of the most naturally looking options available to improve your smile.

Porcelain veneers are made from a very thin layer of porcelain (a glass or ceramic type of material) about the thickness of your finger nail or a contact lens. Because porcelain veneers are so thin very little of your tooth needs to be removed as compared with that of a crown.

Mercury Free Fillings

White FillingsOld mercury fillings can give an otherwise attractive smile a gray dark cast. Today’s modern white filling materials strengthen teeth unlike the mercury amalgam fillings of years past. These new materials restore teeth to their original look, feel, and beauty.

At All Smile Dental, we offer Mercury Free Fillings.

Root Canals

Root Canal WorkA root canal is a treatment used to repair and save a tooth that is badly decayed or becomes infected. During a root canal procedure, the nerve and pulp are removed and the inside of the tooth is cleaned and sealed. Without treatment, the tissue surrounding the tooth will become infected and abscesses may form.

Why Does Tooth Pulp Need to Be Removed?
When a tooth's nerve tissue or pulp is damaged, it breaks down and bacteria begin to multiply within the pulp chamber. The bacteria and other decayed debris can cause an infection or abscessed tooth. Infection of the pulp can be caused by trauma to the tooth, deep decay, cracks and chips, or repeated dental procedures. Symptoms of the infection can be identified as visible injury or swelling of the tooth, sensitivity to temperature or pain in the tooth and gums.

How is a root canal performed?
This injured pulp is removed and the root canal system is thoroughly cleaned and sealed. This therapy usually involves local anesthesia and may be completed in one or more visits depending on the treatment required. Dr. Singh will discuss all this with you in detail at your visit.

SealantSealants protect the grooved and pitted surfaces of the teeth, especially the chewing surfaces of back teeth where most cavities in children are found. Made of clear or shaded plastic, sealants are applied to the teeth to help keep them cavity-free. The application of a sealant is quick and comfortable. It takes only one visit. The tooth is first cleaned. It is then conditioned and dried. The sealant is then flowed onto the grooves of the tooth and allowed to harden or hardened with a special light.
